Project Updates

There are system updates coming to match the nerves_system_br changes but I believe they are on hold as Frank found some really odd, fun problems related to GCC 14.2.0 and ARM 32-bit devices. It would have a negative impact on a bunch of RPi devices as well as many production devices in use today. That's my understanding.

This is a security/bug fix update for 1.29.0.

• New features

  • Support setting the core file pattern early in the boot process to enabling capturing core files from beam.smp startup. See –core-pattern.

• Bug fixes

  • Fix parse issue when looking for file systems to unmount. Previously if file system options for longer than 127 characters, there’d be a harmless parse error. It was harmless since it just resulted in an ignored error and everything that was supposed to be unmounted was. It was just distracting to see in the logs.

A Nerves-powered car

I strongly recommend being in the Elixir Slack and Discord. Marc Lainez will every so often share the progress on the car he and his crew is building that includes a lot of Nerves apparently. Last was a video of the car being controlled like an RC car. Great fun. Also terrifying :)

• Write or port a new hardware library and include it in the Elixir Circuits collection.
• Get in touch about taking over maintenance duties for some libraries, we might be able to provide you hardware.
• Apply for an EEF stipend on something Nerves-related and build it. We can help if you have questions about this.
