- Support passing SSIDs with all NULL characters to wpa_supplicant. This also fixes other SSIDs with nonprintable characters.
Changed
- VintageNet configurations are normalized on load now rather than on use. For various reasons, it’s useful to support multiple ways of specifying network configurations, but internally VintageNet always converts to one way to simplify use. If you call VintageNet.get_configuration/1 or VintageNet.get/2 to look at the config, you’d see the original form and not the normalized one. Now you get the normalized one.
- Add :reason to the VintageNet.Technology.Null. VintageNet uses Null to make network interfaces stay unconfigured when requested or when there’s an error. The :reason key helps you know why rather than forcing you to dig through logs.

ElixirConf US is happening soon! No NervesConf before it this year unfortunately.
I (Lars) will not be going as Florida is a deal-breaker for me. I hope subsequent conferences happen in a state where I can safely bring employees and friends. I would love to meet the US side of the community in person but not this time.
Jason Axelson seems to be the only one flying the Nerves flag at this particular conference and he is taking my old Inky library and running with it. The updated Impression devices, Scenic, lots of fun I'm sure.
Plenty of other interesting talks as well of course.
Code BEAM Europe, Berlin, 17-20 October
This conference is quite close for me and I can just go by train so the plan is to bring the full compliment of me and my team. The line-up is looking bad-ass!
On the Nerves-front we have the best-titled talk by Quinn Wilton. The Tamagotchi in my Hands: Anarcho-transhumanist Biohacking with Nerves. I expect she will blow us away. Abstract says Clippy is involved.
Sanne Kalkman is talking about tracking cats with the GRiSP board. Not sure if that's Nerves or mostly embedded Erlang.
Cocoa Xu will cover her work with TensorFlow Lite (tflite) which is very embedded-oriented. The embedded-friendly option for running ML inference using Nx and if you want to use Coral TPUs and such. Read more here.

I am going to be putting on what I think is the first live iteration of a BEAM Radio with me and a couple of the speakers.

- Write or port a new hardware library and include it in the Elixir Circuits collection.
- Give money to the project via Open Collective.
- Get in touch about taking over maintenance duties for some libraries, we might be able to provide you hardware.
- Apply for an EEF stipend on something Nerves-related and build it. We can help if you have questions about this.
- Send corrections or improvements for documentation wherever it fails to help you.
- Write about Nerves, give talks about Nerves. Make videos about Nerves. It is all good.
