- Bug fix
- Temporarily revert GitHub release update in v1.9.2. It produces an error on new projects when downloading artifacts. It’s easily fixed by adding a jason, but a better fix will be coming.
Editor's note: Johnson or Axelson? Or perhaps the Jason library? Probably the library. So many Jasons.
Improvements
- :github_api artifact site resolver was completely refactored
- More contextual error messages
- GITHUB_TOKEN and GH_TOKEN environment variables supported (They were previously ignored despite the error message suggesting them to be used)
- :user option no longer required, but still supported (effectively ignored by GitHub if the token is supplied)
- :github_release switched to use the same GitHub resolver as :github_api in order to have the same benefits
- Remove duplicate artifact request with 64 byte checksum name
- :github_api artifact site resolver was completely refactored
Bug Fix
- mix firmware now places temporary build products in MIX_BUILD_PATH which prevents them from being stored in _build/ root and compiling different targets in different terminals. See #576
- Check if supplied rootfs_overlays have incompatible directories. See nerves-project/nerves_system_br#495.
This latest release removes support for Elixir versions before 1.9.
- Improvements
- Support multiple circular buffers and filtering based on log level. This makes it possible to separate out debug and info messages so they don’t push out error messages. See the README.md for configuration examples. Thanks to @oestrich for this feature.

Other conferences
ElixirConf EU is coming up in Portugal, Lisbon on the 18th to the 21st of April. Nothing concretely Nerves in the speaker list but tons of cool Elixir. I (Lars Wikman) will be there, I will bring my team (Underjord) and I am delivering a talk (Lively LiveView with Membrane).
If you are in the nordics or have reason to go to Stockholm you should check out Code BEAM Stockholm Lite on the 12th of May. Single day, single track, live coding music :)
Gigcity Elixir put on in Chattanooga, Tennesee by the lovely Tates. Early bird tickets are available. They are open for sponsors and speakers. May 18-20.

The main Code BEAM Europe lands in Berlin this year. 17th to 20th of October.
Supporting the Nerves project
We want to encourage everyone to contribute in whatever way works for them. Here are some ways we currently recommend:
- Write or port a new hardware library and include it in the Elixir Circuits collection.
- Give money to the project via Open Collective.
- Get in touch about taking over maintenance duties for some libraries, we might be able to provide you hardware.
- Apply for an EEF stipend on something Nerves-related and build it. We can help if you have questions about this.
- Send corrections or improvements for documentation wherever it fails to help you.
- Write about Nerves, give talks about Nerves. Make videos about Nerves. It is all good.
