Official project updates
Fix interface monitor crash when a network interface gets removed.
Updated to use iodata for the templates.
Use round instead of trunc for percentages.
And a nice new screenshot for the README :)
nerves_system_br, v1.17.0
A major update to Buildroot 2021.08. Review the Buildroot release notification for full details.
The changelog for nerves_system_br also details a config update needed to use the new GCC version required by the updated Buildroot.
Also updates to Erlang 24.1 which comes with this nice improvement in shutdown time which should make reboot and power down significantly faster on slow devices.
Enable USB gadget interface on boot so that the USB-C cable can provide
power and networking like the RPi Zero and RPi 3A.

nerves_livebook, v0.2.20 & v0.2.21
Nerves Livebook now lives in the main livebook-dev org on GitHub. That's cool.
And the Pi4 updates with gadget mode have been included.
VintageNet
Always a bit of VintageNet in any update right?
vintage_net_wifi, v0.10.6 - Fully decode Wifi flags. If you need this you probably know :)
vintage_net_qmi, v0.2.9 - Ludwigs is at it again over at SmartRent. Read the notes if you are using QMI.
qmi v0.8.0 & v0.8.1 - A small breaking change and then some bug fixes to the QMI library which vintage_net_qmi builds on.

Underjord.io livestream: Unbox an Rpi400 and put Nerves on it
This is the reason Frank got us Gadget mode for the Pi4-series. So next time, not power brick required :) Fun stream where I unpacked it, I've been curious about the device for some time, and then put Nerves on it and proceeded to play around with doing something with just the hardware we had, no screen.

Tech note: Nerves Pack
A compilation of dependencies and default configuration for getting Nerves projects up and running with minimal work.
When added to your project, Nerves Pack brings in the following services and support libraries:
- Networking, using VintageNet.
- mDNS, via MdnsLite.
- SSH, via NervesSSH. Includes:
- regular SSH access
- firmware updates subsystem via SSHSubsystemFwup
- SFTP subsystem
- Ability to configure more subsystems as needed
- Time, via NervesTime
- Logging, via RingLogger
- MOTD, via NervesMOTD
Nerves Pack only contains dependencies. There's no code in this library. Once you find that you want to customize what's included in your project, just remove the :nerves_pack dependency and add the dependencies you need.
When updating old Nerves project, Nerves Pack is the new version of nerves_init_gadget. The main change will be moving your :nerves_networking configuration to VintageNet.

Supporting the Nerves project
We want to encourage everyone to contribute in whatever way works for them. Here are some ways we currently recommend:
- Write or port a new hardware library and include it in the Elixir Circuits collection.
- Give money to the project via Open Collective.
- Get in touch about taking over maintenance duties for some libraries, we might be able to provide you hardware.
- Apply for an EEF stipend on something Nerves-related and build it. We can help if you have questions about this.
- Send corrections or improvements for documentation wherever it fails to help you.
- Write about Nerves, give talks about Nerves. Make videos about Nerves. It is all good.
